Bassist, producer en muziekhistoricus Mark Rubel werkte als geluidstechnicus mee aan de opnames van duizenden liedjes. Check het interview bij Simone!

Mark Rubel is co-directeur van en geeft les aan The Blackbird Academy, een top opleiding voor een nieuwe generatie studio technici. De school is gevestigd in de beroemde Blackbird Studio in Nashville, en Mark gaat iedere dag blij naar zijn werk: “I call it the Willie Wonka Chocolate Factory of Audio, the Walhalla of Recording, where all the equipment that I love has gathered and where so many amazing music makers come through.”

Ook is Mark bezig met een boek over de geschiedenis van de legendarische Amerikaanse muziekstudio’s uit de Jaren 60 en 70. “There are recording studios that we call ‘Temples of Sound’, that feel like holy places. I take our students on regular pilgrimages to Muscle Shoals and Memphis, which are energy centers that created music that will live forever.”
